FAQ

Where is your office located?

We are located in the Loop, across from the Bean at Washington and Michigan Ave. Our address is:

30 N Michigan Avenue, Ste. 1517, Chicago, IL 60602

Where can I park?

Parking is available at the Grant Park North Garage, 20 E. Randolph Street, or 55 E. Monroe Street; try using Spot Hero for the cheapest, most convenient place to park in the Loop.

What do I need to bring to my first session?

If your session is in the office, please bring an ID to get upstairs. From there, an open mind will do!

Do you offer telehealth?

Yes, all therapists here provide telehealth services.

How do I log on to a virtual session?

You’ll receive an email reminder with a link to your session on the day of your appointment. At the time of the appointment, click on the link. A Google Chrome browser works best.

If you join on your phone, it will ask you to download a companion Telehealth App.

Do you take insurance?

Yes! We are in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and Cigna/Evernorth.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel an appointment, please give us at least 24 hours’ notice. Otherwise, you will be charged a $100 late cancellation fee.

How long are sessions?

Sessions are 50-55 minutes.

Do you work with Women? Men? Couples? Families? Teens? Kids?

We love to hear about everyone in your life, but we strictly work with adults in individual sessions. We are happy to provide a referral if you seek couples, family, or child therapy.

What are your levels of education?

Everyone at Elevated Life has a minimum master’s degree. We all seek continuing education to pursue our interests and expertise in specific clinical areas.

What can I expect from my first session?

In your first session, you can plan to expand on what you covered in your phone consultation. We seek to thoroughly understand the issue(s) that brought you in, when it/they started, and how it impacts your life.

What does a client need to know to make the most out of working with you?

As overused as “have an open mind” is, it’s true! Our clients get the most out of their sessions when they are curious about themselves, willing to feel complex emotions, and courageous enough to try something different.

How do I know if you are the right fit for me?

We only go on vibes – I’m partly kidding! Between the phone consultation and the first few sessions, you’ll begin to sense if you’re feeling heard and understood.

Look for markers like feeling you can open up in the room (or at least eventually get there; some stuff takes time!), feeling hopeful about the plan, and genuinely enjoying your sessions, even when they’re hard.

But we also know that fit is one of the most significant markers of success, so we make it a practice to check in along the way.

You want to know about me. Can I ask you questions?

It’s completely understandable to be curious about us and our lives. You’re free to ask us questions; however, we may shy away from answering some of them. We aren’t blank screens, but we also aren’t open books!

That one glorious hour should be yours to take full advantage of. And while we appreciate any questions or concerns you may have for us, try to take that curious energy and channel it inward!

What’s one piece of bad advice you secretly love?

Petty can be therapeutic – don’t text it.

Using your therapy session to express your frustration, anger, and pettiness feels amazing. You can also try venting in your Notes app or writing that passive-aggressive email (but don’t send it).

Sometimes letting the petty out is just what we need!

What’s a coping skill that works but sounds ridiculous at first?

Dunk your head in a bowl of ice water. It sounds weird (and can be a bit messy!), but it will activate the diver’s response to help calm your body and mind somewhat instantly.

Cats or Dogs?

It’s not either/or. Here we practice both/and. =)
